canning chic: how to bottle peaches (the easy way!)

my sister in law shelley taught me this EASY way to bottle peaches, and my life will never be the same! (i remember boiling peaches to get the skins off, then chopping them, boiling them in a syrup, pouring the scalding sugar liquid in the jars...) this is sooo easy. you can bottle as little or as much as you want. you'll love it!

some of my favorite recipes for bottled peaches: perfect peach cobbler (ok, this recipe is why i bottle peaches,) peach pancake, peach ice cream, smoothies, peach sauce for pancakes, and in jello. (any recipes not linked yet are coming soon.)

  7. I just canned 11 pint jars and 3 half pint jars. Thanks so much for the recipe. Instead of using a knive, I used a vegetable peeler. It worked great.

  8. I've never canned peaches so i have a few questions.... So if a bottle does not seal you can eat them right away, right? and once it it sealed, how long must you wait to eat them.. if any time... and how long will they last in the jar?

  9. Just pulled seven quarts out the boiling water bath. They all have undissolved sugar in the bottle. Seven more quarts are now in the canner. Feeling like I should have followed my gut -- concern about undissolved sugar. What should I expect when I open the bottles? I'm discouraged with the outcome.

  10. What size bottles are you using for the 1/2 C. sugar? If it's quarts, do I need to use 1/4 C. sugar for pint jars?
